Midwest Electric is looking for a Summer Engineering Intern!
Midwest Electric is excited to offer a Summer Engineering Internship. This opportunity is for college students to help gain valuable insight into power distribution, system operations, and engineering projects that keep our cooperative running efficiently.
Job duties:
- Assist in planning and maintaining protective scheme equipment, regulators, capacitors, and substations.
- Support the Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) infrastructure.
- Work with software programs related to our system.
- Assist in line staking for construction projects, new service requests, and inspections.
- Recommend solutions for motor starting conditions, load balance, and facility upgrades.
- Maintain records for joint-use facilities with other utilities.
- Help with outage restoration and service emergencies as needed.
- Promote safety, teamwork, and excellent member service in all tasks.
Qualifications:
- Enrolled in a university-level engineering program seeking a bachelor's degree.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Eagerness to learn and collaborate with various teams.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
