Twelve area high school seniors were awarded a Children of Members Scholarship from Midwest Electric, Inc. Two first-place students received $1,500, two second-place students received $1,000, two third-place students received $750, and six honorable mention students received $500 each toward their college education. The winners include:

First place, $1,500
Riley Suchland, New Bremen High School, plans to attend Bowling Green State University and study health science. Riley was selected as the top overall applicant and also participated in the statewide competition held by Ohio’s Electric Cooperatives in Columbus, where she received an Honorable Mention scholarship totaling $1,900.
Landen Bacon, Wapakoneta High School, plans to attend Ohio State University and study biochemistry.
Second place, $1,000
Hannah Brackman, St. Marys Memorial High School, plans to attend Wilmington College and study agronomy.
Caleb Fuller, Shawnee High School, plans to attend Ohio State University and study chemical engineering.
Third place, $750
Keira Breese, Lincolnview High School, plans to attend Eastern Michigan University and study exercise science.
Andrew Monroe, St. Marys Memorial High School, plans to attend Miami University and study accounting.
Honorable Mention, $500
Delana Rank, Lincolnview High School, plans to attend the University of Findlay and study pre-vet/animal science.
Sophie Oleyar, St. Marys Memorial High School, plans to attend Miami University and study speech pathology.
Maria Beyke, St. Henry High School, plans to attend Ohio State University and study aerospace engineering.
Olivia Knapke, Fort Recovery High School, plans to attend the University of Dayton and study education, theology.
Cadyn Neargarder, St. Marys Memorial High School, plans to attend the University of Findlay and study physical therapy.
John Mescher, Marion Local High School, plans to attend Miami University and study computer science.
Touchstone Energy Achievement Scholarship - Tech or Trade School, $1,500
The $1,500 Touchstone Energy Achievement Scholarship winner was Megan Lefeld from St. Henry High School. The scholarship is awarded to a student that will be attending a technical college or trade school after high school. Following graduation, Megan plans to attend the Ohio State Beauty Academy and study cosmetology.
